Why Consuming Black Maca Powder is Beneficial For You
- Black Maca by Food to Live is a finely ground powder made of dried raw Black Maca Root. It is non-gelatinized, kosher, and suitable for both vegan and vegetarian diets.
- Black Maca Root is considered to be the most rare type of this Peruvian root, as it holds the most antioxidants.
- Black Maca Powder’s nutritional value is so high that only a few spoonfuls of it a day can get you much closer to meeting your daily requirements of most essential elements. It gives you a boost of Vitamin B6, Vitamin C, Iron, Copper, Manganese, Potassium, and Dietary Fiber.
- Due to it’s rich nutritional value, Powdered Black Maca is known to boost up energy levels. So it is the perfect ingredient for sports nutrition enthusiasts. Note that Maca Powder does not contain caffeine.
- Maca Powder’s taste is often compared to that of roasted soya beans – earthy with notes of nut-like flavor.
- A spoonful of Maca Root Powder is a great addition to smoothies, iced and hot coffee, lattes, hot chocolate, juices, and other drinks.
- You can also add it to homemade granola, energy bars and energy balls, puddings, yogurts, dressings, sauces, and even baked goodies.
Good to know:
Raw Maca Powder vs. Gelatinized Maca
Raw Maca Powder by Food To Live, is made from crushed dried Maca Roots. They aren’t processed in any way and only heated to 115F max during drying. The product retains all the precious nutrients that make Maca Powder into the extraordinary superfood that it is. Gelatinized maca powder is made of dried roots that were boiled and pressurized. The resulting product is dehydrated and turned into a powder that can be added to drinks or other dishes. This process was introduced in the ’90s and it effectively removes starch from the root.
How to Store
To keep your maca powder nice and fresh, you should store it in the fridge. This is a product that one could and should buy in bulk because it keeps for two years and even more if put in the freezer. The most important thing is to keep Maca Powder away from sunlight, heat, and moisture. The product can expire, and like with any food, you shouldn’t consume it after the ‘best by’ date rolls around.
